Electricians in Sheffield
Every privately rented home in England needs its electrics inspected at least every five years, and anything the inspection finds has to be put right within 28 days. Post the job and electricians covering your area can quote.
How it works
1.Post the job, free
Describe what needs doing. Your address stays private until you choose someone.
2.Compare quotes
See each tradesperson’s reviews, completed work and which checks they have passed.
3.Pay when it’s done
You pay when you book. The money is held and only released once you approve the work.
What landlords use an electrician for
- Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
- Remedial work after an EICR
- Fault finding — tripping circuits, dead sockets, flickering lights
- New sockets, lighting and consumer units
- Fitting mains-wired smoke and heat alarms
Before you hire an electrician
- For an EICR: that they are qualified and competent to inspect and test, and will give you the full written report.
- For new circuits or a consumer unit: registration with a competent person scheme such as NICEIC or NAPIT, so the work is certified for Building Regulations.
- Public liability insurance.
Every profile on Atria Trades shows which checks that tradesperson has passed, so you can compare before you ask anyone to quote. Browse electricians on Atria Trades.
